Free Capoeira Try-It class and Beginners Course this June!
On Saturday 15th June, Capoeira Nottingham will host a Capoeira Open Day, where you can try Capoeira for the first time, for free! Come and give it a go!
Children are welcome too, but if under the age of 8, they must be accompanied in the class by a responsible adult.
Following that, on Wednesday 19th June, starts another one of our Capoeira Beginners Courses. It is the perfect environment to start learning Capoeira, alongside other new beginners. There are limited places for the course. Please be in touch asap to show interest.

Summer Workshop with Contra-Mestre Piolho: Saturday 22nd June
To see in the summer in style, on Saturday 22nd June, CDO Nottingham will be hosting the amazing Contra-Mestre Piolho for an extended workshop in Capoeira for beginners, intermediate and advanced Capoeiristas!
Time, place, price:
1-4.30pm
International Community Centre, 61b Mansfield Road, Nottingham
£12 (£10 concessions)
There will also be a special workshop for children in the morning.
Older kids:
11am-12pm Workshop with C-M Piolho
12-12.30pm Mini-class with Instrutor Tatu
12.30-1pm Roda all together
Younger kids:
12-12.30 Workshop with C-M Piolho
12.30-1pm Roda all together
Price: £10 for older kids, £5 for younger kids.
On the day we will also be releasing our first ever group coloured t-shirt for the kids, designed by Monitora Soneca!

Vivencia Capoeira Angola in Birmingham with Mestre Jogo de Dentro!
Coming up from our sister group in Birmingham, an amazing four day event, not to be missed!
Mestre Jogo de Dentro will be in Birmingham from Wednesday 26th until Sunday 30th June, for a week long "Vivencia" of Capoeira Angola.
There will be Capoeira classes everyday, workshops not just in movement, but in philosophy, music, etiquette and history.

Also each day there will be a class focusing on a different instrument. Berimbau, Pandeiro, Attabaque and Samba instruments. With percussion classes on Capoeira, Samba, Puxada de rede, Jongo and Macuele rhythms.
Also each day there will be a 45 min street roda in different locations: To bring Capoeira back to its urban roots and to maintain the traditions and the rituals that have kept it alive so many years.

International Capoeira Festival over for another year!
On the 22nd-24th March 2013, Capoeira Nottingham celebrated our 12th Batizado. Three days of Capoeira workshops, performances, and a grading on Saturday afternoon, with our new beginners getting their first belt, and more advanced students get shiny new ones!
It was our first ever event that had to compete with snow, but despite the unseasonably difficult weather, we put together one of our best ever Batizados!

Capoeira Nottingham feature on One Nottingham trailer!
Last year Capoeira Nottingham were invited to contribute to the making of a film that celebrates all that Nottingham has to offer. The film was produced by Spool Films for One Nottingham: the city's Strategic Partnership for the City, which brings together public, private, voluntary and community sector organisations to champion our long term vision for Nottingham.
